Stone
Stone Heritage holds a large stock of reclaimed York stone paving, setts and kerb.
Reclaimed Stone:
We reclaim York stone paving from public streets which were produced to a specification and checked by the relevant authority’s Clerk of Works. I avoid flag stones from mills because of the contamination (York Stone is porous) and from houses because the thinness and lack of weathering makes them brittle.
We also keep a stock pile of reclaimed gritstone setts which are nominally 125mm (5”) by 150mm (6”) by lengths between 125mm and 200mm (8”)
Gritstone kerb 300mm (12”) by 200mm (8”), is usually available from stock, are often used as solid steps as well as road edging.
Reclaimed Granite:
Granite kerb 300mm (12”) by 200mm (8”), both grey and pink is usually available from stock, are often used as solid steps as well as road edging. Granite setts, cubes are usually available from stock in a range of colours including blue, pink and light and dark grey.
New Stone, York Stone, Sand Stone and Gritstone Dimensional and crazy paving, slabs, flags, treads, risers, setts and kerb stones, coping stone, pier caps, pedestals, capitals, headers, jambs, hearthstones, thresholds, walling, etc. are crafted to your specification.
Stone is available in a variety of colours and markings from the plain to shaded, swirls or bands, whilst textures range from fine–grained sandstone to coarse–grained gritstone.
Limestone:
Limestone paving, (some hard enough to be polished) including interesting stone with large fossils is also available and is sourced from a number of quarries and is used for most indoor and outdoor applications.
